Description

NGC 6745 is a triplet of galaxies in the constellation of Lyra, distant 207 million light years from the Milky Way, with an extension of 80,000 light years. The galaxy NGC6745-2, still visible just below the main one, collided with it, deforming it and giving it an irregular shape (Bird's Head). Between the two, a brilliant mass of dust and stars has formed (PGC200362). The apparent size is small, only 1.4 x 0.7 min. The brightness is also dim, 12.8 mag / sec2. The Ring Nebula, for example, is 3 'x 2.4' in size, and has a surface brightness of 10.7. I used a very long exposure time (12.3 h) and got a good guide, but the September seeing in Spain has not been helpful. In spite of everything, I am happy with my little galaxy.
